Discussion of teaching points and development of technique and musicianship through Book 1 Suzuki Violin School.
Prerequisites:
  • SAA active membership
  • Every Child Can! course
  • Approved Basic, Intermediate or Comprehensive video audition through the SAA

Audition videos must be submitted to the SAA by January 15 (it takes two weeks to process). Go to www.suzukiassociation.org/teachers/guides/audition for more information on how to audition.

Avoid disappointment!
Because there is limited enrolment in this popular course, we suggest you register online for it early even if you have not yet submitted your audition to the SAA, or it is not yet approved.
Required Course Preparation:
All teacher training participants are asked to prepare and memorize the repertoire to be studied to the point of fluent performance. Additionally, participants should be conversant with the ideas presented in Dr. Suzuki's book Nurtured by Love.

All participants will be performing Suzuki repertoire and other materials in class. Please have your instrument available during the classes. It is recommended that participants take notes during all sessions. Recording the Zoom classes will be at the discretion of the trainer. 100% attendance is required for registering the course. If your instructor has prepared additional materials for the course, they will be made available online or emailed to you.

You will also receive a letter from the SAA outlining the preparation requirements and basic course components. If your instructor has prepared additional materials for the course, they will be posted online for you.

Hours: 28 hours of class time. 15 hours of observation.

Cost: $790 CDN
